Event
May 1, 2023

Comprehensive US state privacy laws have now been adopted in six US states.  In anticipation of the implementation of the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CDPA), effective July 1, and other privacy laws going into operation this year, Ropes & Gray partnered with the Boston Bar Association to discuss strategies for related compliance issues.

The panel, which was organized and moderated by data, privacy and cybersecurity counsel Kevin Angle, discussed the nuances of the CDPA, plans for enforcement, data minimization, and controls around sensitive personal information including children’s data, among other topics. Kevin was joined by Michele Lucan, Chief of the Connecticut Attorney General’s Privacy Section, Leah Plunkett, Meyer Research Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School and a faculty associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University, and Esther Silberstein, Associate General Counsel, Privacy at Meta.
