The international law firm of Ropes & Gray today moved to new offices at Three Embarcadero Center in San Francisco. With 50,000 square feet, the new offices position the firm for rapid growth over the next few years by accommodating up to 100 lawyers and offer attractive expansion options for additional future growth.

“We’re very excited about the new space and bullish about the legal market and the future for Ropes & Gray here in San Francisco,” said Geoffrey Leonard, managing partner of the San Francisco office. “The firm is enjoying great success in California. Our business lawyers have already been involved in several large transactions this year, and our litigators have won a number of significant cases in both state and federal courts.”

Leonard concluded, “We’re looking to expand in key areas such as litigation, private equity and corporate finance. We also expect to be building on the firm’s core strengths in health care, intellectual property litigation, investment management, life sciences, tax and venture capital.”

The firm’s new space, which was designed by Gensler, features San Francisco waterfront views and a state-of-the-art conference center. The firm expects to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, which indicates compliance with standards for environmentally sustainable construction.

Ropes & Gray has 1,000 attorneys around the world. In addition to its 35-lawyer office in San Francisco and 30-lawyer office in Silicon Valley, the firm has offices in New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., Chicago, London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
