Alexandre Rene Bolsters Ropes & Gray’s Government Enforcement Practice

Ropes & Gray announced that Alexandre Rene has joined the firm as a partner in its government enforcement practice group. Mr. Rene is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

As a litigator who has successfully tried numerous cases in federal and state courts, Mr. Rene will focus on criminal and civil enforcement proceedings and related investigations. He joins Ropes & Gray from Fulbright & Jaworski, where he represented corporate entities and their executives and employees, as well as individuals, in connection with grand jury investigations, white collar criminal prosecutions and criminal antitrust investigations and prosecutions. Mr. Rene has recently led several large-scale reviews and internal investigations of major public corporations and senior executives.

Mr. Rene has also represented business entities and executives in civil matters such as breach of contract, tortious interference, business conspiracy, fraud, criminal conversion, and forum non conveniens. Before entering private practice, Mr. Rene was an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia and a trial attorney in the Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, Fraud Section where he focused on prosecuting wire and mail fraud, money laundering, procurement fraud, and violations of the Travel Act and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, among other offenses.
