Securities litigation partners John Donovan and Robert Skinner have been named to the 2010 MutualFundWire “Most Influential People” list, which has been released in installments over the course of November 2010. The list of 100 top mutual fund industry professionals is based on nominations from industry representatives and the judgment of the publication’s editorial staff.

MutualFundWire cites the work of both attorneys in successfully defending mutual fund advisor Harris Associates in the U.S. Supreme Court case Jones v. Harris Associates, which established the liability standard for excessive fee claims. MutualFundWire describes Jones v. Harris Associates as a ruling that is “reshaping how fees are justified in the industry. The ruling also endorsed the primacy of independent fund directors in setting fees, and rebuffed attempts by plaintiffs’ lawyers to encourage increased judicial scrutiny of fees.”
