India Business Law Journal recently highlighted Ropes & Gray as a significant player among the top international firms for India-related work in its June 2013 issue. In this intelligence report, the publication noted the firm “has undertaken due diligence on eight India-related deals since July 2012; conducted more than a dozen anti-corruption training sessions in India for global private equity firms and Indian-based companies; and advised an ad hoc committee of bondholders on the restructuring of foreign currency convertible bonds issued by Suzlon Energy. The firm represented Goldman Sachs as one of the selling shareholders in Bharti Infratel’s $825 million IPO and advised Bain Capital on its $1 billion purchase of a 30 percent stake in Genpact.”

In addition, the firm was honored in 2012 with India Business Law Journal’s “Deal of the Year” for the acquisition of a $1 billion stake in Indian outsourcing technology manager Genpact Ltd. by Bain Capital Partners.

India Business Law Journal’s survey is now in its seventh year, and draws on an analysis of over 600 law firms from every continent that have recorded transactions or cases with an Indian connection over the past year.
