Ropes & Gray Advises Symmetry Medical in $450 Million Sale of OEM Solutions Business

Ropes & Gray represented Symmetry Medical in the sale of its OEM Solutions business to Tecomet, a Genstar Capital portfolio company, for $450 million. As part of the deal, Symmetry, a publicly held medical device solutions provider, will also spin off and transfer to its shareholders ownership in a new company holding its Symmetry Surgical business. The transaction was announced Aug. 4.

The Ropes & Gray deal team was led by mergers & acquisitions partner James Lidbury (Hong Kong) and included tax partner Eric Elfman (Boston); executive compensation & employee benefits partner Renata Ferrari (Boston); intellectual property transactions partner David McIntosh (Boston) and mergers & acquisitions associates Rachel Phillips (New York).
