Robert Skinner has returned to Ropes & Gray as a partner in the business & securities litigation practice group in the Boston office. An industry leader in investment management litigation, Mr. Skinner represents investment advisers and other financial services firms in securities litigation and other complex business disputes. He has been at the forefront of many of the key challenges facing the mutual fund industry in recent years, including subprime-related losses, excessive fee claims, and prospectus liability, earning him recognition by MutualFundWire in 2010 as one of its “Most Influential People.” Mr. Skinner also frequently advises investment managers and other clients on state and federal regulatory issues.

Mr. Skinner left the firm briefly early in 2014 to serve as Chief Corporate Counsel on an interim basis at Affiliated Managers Group, Inc. (AMG), a leading global asset management company and Ropes & Gray client. His return bolsters Ropes & Gray’s securities litigation practice, which is consistently ranked among the premiere litigation groups in the country.
