Ropes & Gray Alum Theodore Ruger Named Dean of Penn Law

Following more than a decade of service as Deputy Dean, Ropes & Gray alum Theodore Ruger has been announced as the University of Pennsylvania’s next Dean of the Law School. Mr. Ruger is a scholar of constitutional and health law, and, while with Ropes & Gray, worked out of the firm’s Boston office in the field of health law.

Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Mr. Ruger attended Williams College and Harvard Law School, and clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Michael Boudin.


Mr. Ruger begins as Dean of the University of Pennsylvania Law School on July 1, 2015.
