Ropes & Gray Advises adidas in Sale of Rockport Shoe Business

Ropes & Gray advised global sporting goods leader the adidas Group in the sale of its Rockport shoe business for $280 million to a new entity formed by New Balance and Berkshire Partners. The transaction was announced Jan. 23 and is expected to close later in 2015.

The Ropes & Gray team was led by mergers & acquisitions partner Jane Goldstein and included tax partner Elaine Murphy, intellectual property transactions partner David McIntosh, real estate partner Richard Gordet, executive compensation & employee benefits partner Loretta Richard, executive compensation & employee benefits counsel William Littell, antitrust counsel Deidre Johnson, and mergers & acquisitions associate Zachary Blume.
