Ropes & Gray Adds Broker-Dealer Counsel to Asset Management Practice in New York

Ropes & Gray LLP today announced that Brynn Rail has joined the firm’s asset management practice in New York as counsel, focusing primarily on broker-dealer regulatory issues.  

Ms. Rail has significant experience representing U.S. and international broker-dealers on regulatory and securities law issues, including registration, FINRA compliance, trading, margin, net capital, and clearance and settlement. She counsels investment advisers on structuring and distributing their private investment fund products and compliance with Investment Advisers Act requirements. Ms. Rail negotiates prime brokerage and custody agreements on behalf of investment advisers and their clients, and she also advises clients in connection with M&A transactions involving broker-dealers and investment advisers.

Before joining Ropes & Gray, Ms. Rail practiced in the investment management group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. She received her J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and her B.A. from Boston College.
