Four Attorneys Named Counsel at Ropes & Gray

Preeminent global law firm Ropes & Gray announced Jan. 5 that it has promoted four attorneys to counsel. With a diversity of experience, the new counsel work within leading practices at the firm, including private equity, intellectual property transactions, securities & shareholder litigation, and the private client group, and serve clients in an array of industries, including retail and consumer brands, asset management, and life sciences.

Meet our new counsel:

Geoffrey Atkins advises clients internationally in connection with securities enforcement matters, related compliance consulting and complex business litigation. He works with private equity and other financial services clients, as well as pharmaceutical and other public and private companies involved in civil and criminal government enforcement matters on securities issues.  He also assists corporate management and directors conducting internal investigations and establishing regulatory compliance programs, particularly related to anti-corruption compliance, and regularly advises clients regarding anti-corruption risk in connection with mergers and acquisitions.

Michael Gilbert focuses on structuring and negotiating mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and direct investments for corporate and private equity clients, as well as providing general corporate representation of both public and private companies. He also represents investment management firms in connection with strategic transactions including acquisitions and divestitures. The financial investors Mike represents invest in a wide range of markets and industries, including consumer products and retail brands, services, and manufacturing.

Erica Han advises consumer branded product companies in relation to global brand strategy, trademark clearance and prosecution, advertising clearance, and resolution of intellectual property disputes. She also represents a wide range of clients in a variety of transactions involving corporate and intellectual property matters, including licensing and collaboration agreements, mergers and acquisitions, supply and distribution agreements, sponsorship and co-promotion arrangements, and other strategic commercial agreements.
