Ropes & Gray Advises New Client ICG on $5.3bn Buyout of Visma - Europe's Largest Ever Software Buyout

International law firm Ropes & Gray has advised Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) – a second new client for the firm announced in recent weeks* - on the $5.3bn consortium buyout of Visma, Europe's largest ever software buyout.

ICG was part of a consortium of investors that bought stakes in the deal.  Other investors included HgCapital, Cinven, GIC and Montagu, alongside Visma’s management team.

The London-based Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity partner Helen Croke. Other members of the team included finance counsel Alex Robb and private equity associate Nicholas Matthew.

*In May 2017, Ropes & Gray has advised Oakley Capital Investments – another new client for the firm – on its investment in TechInsights, a U.S. technology company that offers intellectual property consulting, patent brokerage services, and technical analysis. The Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity partner Helen Croke. The team also included private equity associates Electra Sorba.
