In Law360, Hong Kong Litigation & Enforcement Attorneys Examine Global Health Care Compliance in Korea

Practices: Litigation, Government Enforcement / White Collar Criminal Defense, China Life Sciences, Anti-Money Laundering, Asia Pacific

Litigation & enforcement partner Mimi Yang and associate Karen Oddo (both of Hong Kong) authored a Law360 article on April 2 examining global health care compliance initiatives in Korea.

They explain how life sciences companies operating in Korea may face increased enforcement by U.S. regulators in addition to Korea authorities pursuing more stringent and aggressive anti-corruption measures and increased transparency.

The authors note that with Korean regulators rolling out the Sunshine Act to strengthen anti-corruption efforts, biopharmaceutical and medical device companies operating in Korea should access and update their policies, procedures and internal controls to address Korean compliance concerns, especially regarding travel, gifts, entertainment and expense controls.
