Global law firm Ropes & Gray announced today that Laura D. Yockey has rejoined the firm’s private equity practice as counsel in Chicago.

Ms. Yockey represents private equity, public company and other clients in connection with acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, refinancings and general corporate matters in a wide variety of sectors, and has particularly strong experience in healthcare and life sciences.

“We are delighted to welcome Laura back to Ropes & Gray. Laura was a key part of establishing this office and will be a tremendous addition as we continue to grow our private equity and M&A practice in Chicago to meet increasing client demand,” said Neill Jakobe, managing partner for the Chicago office.

Ropes & Gray’s award-winning private equity practice represents a broad client base that includes 36 of the 100 largest global funds and more than 80 midmarket firms routinely doing $10M to $1B+ in transactions.

Ms. Yockey received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, cum laude, and was executive editor and associate editor at the Michigan Law Review. She received her B.A. from Illinois State University.

Ropes & Gray recognizes that the experiences attorneys have after leaving the firm enrich our culture and bring valuable perspective to the firm’s work. The firm’s “Re-ttorney Program” – the rehiring of attorneys who previously worked at Ropes & Gray – is designed to recapture talent in which the firm has invested by bringing alumni back to the firm to grow, develop and serve our clients.
