Paul Scrivano Discusses 2019 Outlook for the M&A Market in Law360
In an article published on Jan. 1 in Law360, global head of mergers & acquisitions Paul Scrivano provides extensive insights on the 2019 outlook for M&A. The article mentions deal-making in 2019 “will ride continued favorable economics for a steady start to the year amid growing global geopolitical tensions. ”
"There is a healthy amount of confidence and optimism going into 2019 that it will continue to be a vibrant M&A market," Paul states in the piece. Paul also highlights that "activism continues to be on the rise, including beyond the shores of the U.S. That is not likely to go away." And, despite overall confidence, Paul notes that “The geopolitical situation is still not transparent. It's still a little opaque. They are still working through Brexit in the U.K. It hasn't really had a significant effect on U.K. M&A work. The geopolitical situation involving China and the U.S., including the trade war and any potential trade detente, continues to be in flux. All of those things are weighing to some degree on M&A."
