SEC officials have hinted at the areas of the proxy-voting process in need of regulatory changes, says asset management partner Paulita Pike, in an Ignites video interview at the Investment Company Institute’s 2019 Mutual Funds and Investment Management Conference. Among them is whether some issues that funds vote on require asset managers to conduct company-specific research, rather than rely on a proxy advisor's more general policy for deciding how to vote, Ms. Pike says.
