Ropes & Gray advised Kohlberg & Company in its acquisition of Area Wide Protective, a leading utility services firm. Terms of the transaction, which was announced on Dec. 23, were not disclosed. The press release is here.

Kohlberg & Company is a leading private equity firm headquartered in Mount Kisco, New York. Since its inception in 1987, Kohlberg has organized nine private equity funds, through which it has raised over $10 billion of committed equity capital.

The Ropes & Gray team that advised Kohlberg & Company was led by private equity partners Andrew Silver (New York) and Will Shields (Boston), and included employment, executive compensation and benefits partners Jennifer Rikoski and Jennifer Cormier (both of Boston), tax partner Aaron Harsh (Boston), real estate partner Peter Alpert (Boston) and IP transactions partner Edward Kelly (Boston).
