Law360 Names Four Ropes & Gray Lawyers MVPs

Law360 named five Ropes & Gray lawyers to its annual MVP list. The awards honor exceptional lawyers who secured “hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.” They are:

Gregg GalardiGregg Galardi, “Bankruptcy MVP” – Gregg is head of the firm’s business restructuring practice. He has broad global experience and has represented some of the most well-known debtors and distressed borrowers in a wide variety of industries. His recent high-profile work includes representing Rubio’s Grill, the operator and franchisor of approximately 170 limited service restaurants, in its chapter 11 cases; representing Centric Brands Inc., a leading lifestyle brands collective, and certain of its subsidiaries, in their chapter 11 cases; and representing VIP Cinema Holdings, Inc., and certain of its affiliates, in its prepackaged Chapter 11.

Mark BiamonteMark Biamonte, “Fund Formation MVP” – Marc is a partner in the asset management group who concentrates on the formation and operation of private investment funds. He works with funds of all sizes, across fund types, including buyout, funds of funds, venture, hedge, secondary and special focus funds. Marc is also co-leader of the firm’s institutional investors team. His recent fund work includes advising SVP Global on its $5 billion Strategic Value Special Situations Fund V; Kohlberg & Company on a $1.1 billion continuation vehicle transaction; AlpInvest Partners on its Eighth Co-Investment Fund, raising $3.5 billion; and AlpInvest’s Secondaries Program VII, a $9 billion fundraise.

Lindsey GoldsteinLindsey Goldstein, “Fund Formation MVP” – Drawing on more than a decade of experience in sponsor-side fund work, Lindsey focuses her practice on advising U.S. and non-U.S. private investment fund sponsors on a wide range of matters, including the formation and structuring of private investment funds, capital raising, fund regulatory and compliance matters, and portfolio investment activities. Lindsey’s recent fund work includes advising AlpInvest Partners on its Eighth Co-Investment Fund, raising $3.5 billion; AlpInvest’s Secondaries Program VII, a $9 billion fundraise; and in 2019 she represented Parthenon Fund VI on its $2 billion fundraise.

Hannah EnglandHannah England (Freeman), “Life Sciences MVP” – Hannah advises clients in the life sciences industry on strategic transactions that are of critical strategic importance, with particular focus in licensing and collaboration transactions, and asset acquisitions and divestitures. Notably, in 2020, Hannah represented clients in five of the 15 top biopharmaceutical licensing deals measured by deal value, according to an analysis published in Fierce Biotech. Hannah’s recent accomplishments include advising Shape Therapeutics in a gene therapy collaboration with Roche worth $3 billion; Iteos Therapeutics in a $2 billion cancer drug collaboration with GSK; uniQure N.V. in a licensing agreement worth over $1.6 billon with CSL Behring; and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company in a licensing collaboration with Neurocrine Biosciences valued at over $1.6 billion.
