In Healthcare Dive, Deborah Gardner Discusses Legislation Focused on Uninsured Patients
In a Healthcare Dive article, health care partner Deborah Gardner (Boston) discussed the challenges placed on the healthcare industry by the No Surprises Act, which went into effect earlier this year. The bill is designed to aid with unexpected medical bills that leave patients stuck in the middle between payers and providers.
Deborah explains the regulation is complicated and challenging for providers to operationalize. She said that people with insurance could be considered uninsured in certain circumstances. She notes the determination about whether or not somebody has a medical benefit could be difficult to figure out.
