In a Los Angeles Times roundtable discussion piece, litigation & enforcement partners Amy Jane Longo and Chong Park discussed the state of ESG programs in the business sector in 2022, and what the industry is likely to see in 2023.

In their analysis, Amy and Chong provided insight into federal regulators’ increased scrutiny of ‘greenwashing,’ or misleading the public on supposed environmentally friendly products and services. This past year, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and U.S. Federal Trade Commission all have made significant efforts to crack down on the practice through various means. “Given the current enforcement environment, companies should take care of their ESG-related practices and representations,” Amy and Chong advised.
