Jessica Reece Highlights Importance of Process in SEC Examination Priorities

Fund directors continue to figure largely into the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) plans, its examination for 2023 show.

Directors should expect to produce more granular details about board materials and activities than in previous years, and the SEC will likely use that information in subsequent statements and alerts.

Asset management partner Jessica Reece told BoardIQ that, “the SEC, and the [examinations] division, are thinking about and pushing on process. They want to understand how advisors and boards are thinking about what they do… They want to see the process all the way through in a way we haven’t historically seen.”
