Ropes & Gray Closes Three Bain Capital Funds Totaling More Than $3 Billion

Ropes & Gray represented Bain Capital and Bain Capital Ventures through several fund closures at the start of 2023, totaling over $3 billion in commitments.

The firm advised Bain Capital Ventures on the closing of Bain Capital Venture Fund 2022, with $1.4 billion in total commitments, and on the closing of Bain Capital Ventures Co-Investment Fund IV, with $493 million in total commitments. Additionally, Ropes & Gray advised Bain Capital on the closing of Bain Capital Tech Opportunities Fund II, L.P. The fund closed with $2.4 billion in total commitments, up from the $1.3 billion that the firm put to work through the first vehicle of its type in 2019.

Bain Capital is a global private investment firm that manages several pools of capital including private equity, venture capital, credit, public equity, impact investing, life sciences and real estate with approximately $160 billion in assets under management.
