On International Women’s Day, asset management partner Sarah Clinton shared insights into the unique challenges faced by working women and the unyielding support of female attorneys at all levels at Ropes & Gray. Her interview can be heard on Bloomberg Baystate Business.

Sarah described the impact the pandemic had on the legal industry, and specifically on mothers working from home, juggling childcare, and managing remote schooling. “Ropes was very supportive during the pandemic. Our firm leadership was very communicative and really forthcoming,” Sarah said.

Sarah also noted the innovative programs Ropes & Gray has implemented over the past decade to recruit, retain, and advance the careers of women attorneys. “Ropes has been focused on DE&I and putting resources on equitable systems for recruiting and advancement, leadership and development, cultural competence…”  Today, more than 46 percent of Ropes & Gray’s lawyers are women, and women comprise nearly 32 percent of the partnership—well above industry average of 21 percent.
