Paulita Pike Discusses Swing Pricing in Ignites

At the 2023 ICI Conference, asset management partner Paulita Pike discussed the impact of swing pricing on funds.

She told Ignites, “we're talking about changing out the piping in the industry to make this work. And that is something that is not a compliance issue. That's an operational issue. That would need to be the first step. A compliance can then layer on top of that and react to the rule.”

On whether operational changes would be applied to both money market funds and all open-ended funds, Paulita said, “you might, depending on how the rules are sort of reconciled and how they're implemented. And certainly to the extent that you needed to do it for both types of products, you would try to find the most efficient solution.”
