Paulita Pike Shares Insight Into ESG Investing

At the 2023 ICI Conference, asset management partner Paulita Pike discussed how the ESG debate is impacting the investment management industry.

She told Ignites, “the question is, how do you go about executing or affecting on rules or rule proposals that are actually going to be shareholder helpful, that are going to inform them, and that are going to allow asset management firms to offer those products efficiently and effectively?”

On defining materiality amid the new ESG proposals, Paulita said, “I think the issue with ESG is that because that landscape is still developing and it's still very much maybe in its nascent stages, not quite yet as robust as it might be, introducing a concept of materiality, which also it can be vague, it just feels vaguer in that context.”
