Ropes & Gray’s Judith Seddon Recognized at Who’s Who Legal 2018 Awards

Judith Seddon, co-head of Ropes & Gray’s London international risk practice, has been named Business Crime Defence Lawyer of the Year, at the Who’s Who Legal Awards 2018, held in London on 8 May. 

Judith, who is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading financial crime lawyers, was awarded the prize in recognition of her work in major fraud and corruption cases and investigations over the past 12 months.  

Who's Who Legal spend months collating recommendations from private practitioners and in-house counsel in order to identify the global legal market's most widely recognised and accomplished firms and individuals.  According to judges, Judith was described by peers as “a lawyer of the first order”, known for her “sharp and clever” counsel and her “trusted judgement”.  She was rated “very highly” for both individual and corporate white-collar crime. 

Judith is additionally ranked as a leading individual by the Legal 500 UK directory, which has described her as “the go-to woman for all financial services investigations with a criminal dimension.” She is also ranked as a Band 1 lawyer in the Chambers & Partners UK directory, which notes her “impressive criminal law background and strong relationships with financial institutions,” as well as her “sensible and strategic approach.” She is additionally listed in the Global Investigation Review’s ‘100 Women in Investigations’ and was awarded ‘Best in White Collar’ at the European Women in Business Law Awards 2016.
