Paul Scrivano and John Chesley Recognized as 2020 California Trailblazers by The Recorder

Global mergers & acquisitions partner and chair Paul Scrivano and health care partner John Chesley (both of San Francisco) were named to The Recorder’s 2020 list of California Trailblazers. The legal professionals included in the list have made significant contributions in their respective practices. Both Paul and John were profiled by the publication on their recent, significant accomplishments and what the future holds for their practice areas.

Paul was recognized for representing Veeam Software, which makes backup and recovery software for physical and cloud networks, in its $5 billion sale to Insight Partners, which closed in early 2020. Paul has led numerous other transactions including Milacron Holdings Corporation’s merger with Hillenbrand Inc., a cash and stock transaction valued at $2 billion.

John, who specializes in health care finance and restructuring, was honored for representing Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a non-profit academic medical center located in Los Angeles, in the negotiation of a whole-hospital joint venture with Providence St. Joseph Health, a non-profit Catholic hospital system. Separately, John represented Community Medical Centers Healthcare Network in developing and negotiating an agreement with the Santé Health Foundation physician network for co-management of CMC’s clinical and research oncology program where cancer patients could access all the care they needed in one location.
