Cristine Pirro Schwarzman and Julie Jones Named “Lawyers of the Year” by Women in Business Law Awards 2021

At the annual Women in Business Law awards, business restructuring partner Cristine Pirro Schwarzman was named “Insolvency & Restructuring Lawyer of the Year,” and chair Julie Jones named “Lawyer of the Year - Outstanding Achievement.”

The Women in Business Law Awards celebrate the efforts and achievements of law firms and legal teams across continents in promoting the advancement of women in the legal profession and highlight the most impressive achievements by women lawyers.

Cristi was honored by Women in Business Law for her work representing debtors, lenders, private equity sponsors and investors in out-of-court restructurings and chapter 11 cases. Since the beginning of 2020, Cristi has represented debtors or sponsors in the chapter 11 cases involving Centric Brands Inc., Rubio’s Restaurants Inc., Alamo Drafthouse and VIP Cinema Seating, in addition to advising boards and senior managements of distressed companies on fiduciary and corporate governance issues that have emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

In recent months, Cristi has also been named by Turnarounds & Workouts as “Outstanding Young Restructuring Lawyer” for 2020 as well as inclusion in the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 40 Under 40 awards, Private Debt Investor’s Rising Stars for 2020 and the Global M&A Network’s Top U.S.A. Women Dealmakers of 2020.

Julie, chair of the firm, and one of the world’s premier corporate lawyers, has won countless accolades for leadership of Ropes & Gray, and for her work on behalf of clients. Her clients have included some of the world’s largest companies and investors. For women lawyers, in particular, Julie and the firm have rolled out creative and innovative programs and initiatives to accelerate their careers.
