Asset management partners Marc Biamonte and Lindsey Goldstein were profiled by Law360 as 2021 Fund Formation MVPs. Law360’s annual MVP awards honor exceptional lawyers who secured “hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.”

In their profile, Marc and Lindsey shared their biggest accomplishments for clients over 2020, crediting their adaptability to brainstorming and collaborating as the reason for their success. Among their milestones this year was serving as co-lead fund formation counsel to AlpInvest Partners on two funds, AlpInvest Secondaries Program VII, raising $9 billion and AlpInvest Co-Investment Fund VIII, which raised $3.5 billion.

As a partner and co-leader of the firm’s institutional investors and buyout funds teams in the asset management group, Marc concentrates on the formation and operation of private investment funds. In Law360 Marc shared that he and Lindsey have worked with AlpInvest since 2011, so when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, their strong client connection provided an important foundation. “I think having that established relationship made the remote work that we needed seamless," said Marc in the article.

Lindsey is a partner in the asset management group with a focus on a range of matters including the formation and structuring of private investment funds, capital raising, fund regulatory and compliance matters, and portfolio investment activities. On working remotely, Lindsey underscored that “having … a trusted relationship [with AlpInvest]” meant the client knew “that even though we weren't sitting in our office, we were working just as hard for them."
