Jules is an associate in the tax and asset management practices at Ropes & Gray’s Paris office, who joined the firm in 2026.

He focuses on fund formation for both French and foreign private equity funds, advising sponsors on fund and tax structuring, fundraising, co-investment and carried interest arrangements. His work is particularly relevant to private equity, infrastructure, and funds of funds. He has structured private equity funds for general partners across jurisdictions such as Luxembourg, Scotland, and France, and regularly advises investors on their primary investments in investment funds.

He also has experience in tax aspects of M&A transactions, including leveraged buyouts, project finance, and capital markets.

Before joining Ropes & Gray, Jules worked as an associate in the tax and investment funds practices of another global law firm, where he was also seconded to the energy & infrastructure practice in Paris.

Experience

  • Advised a French sponsor on the establishment and fundraising of its latest generation of secondary funds of funds, which is currently raising a multi-billion euro fund.*
  • Advised a French sponsor on the set-up of a French ELTIF that is currently in the fundraising phase.*
  • Advised a French sponsor on the establishment and fundraising of a French fund focused on an expansion strategy.*
  • Advised a French sponsor on the establishment and fundraising of a French fund focused on a growth private equity strategy.*
