Alexander Blanchet is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s antitrust practice group. Alexander provides guidance to clients on issues related to the antitrust merger review process and represents clients in government investigations conducted by the Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. He has experience evaluating transactions across various industries, including healthcare and life sciences.
Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Alexander was a law clerk in the Antitrust Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office.
During law school, Alexander served as an articles editor for the International Law Review Association. He also served as a law school ambassador for the American Bar Association Antitrust Law Section.
Alexander is currently a young lawyer representative on the Federal Civil Enforcement Committee of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Law Section.

- Advised Immunogen on the antitrust aspects of its sale to AbbVie valued at $10.1 billion.
- Representation of Johns Hopkins University in class action antitrust lawsuit – Corzo, et al., v. Brown University et al., Case No. 1:22-cv-00125 (N.D. Ill.).
- Represented Signify Health in its sale to CVS Health in an $8 billion transaction. The transaction closed following antitrust review and investigation by the Department of Justice, including a Second Request.
