Alexandra Boster is based in the San Francisco office of Ropes & Gray, practicing in the intellectual property transactions group. She advises clients across a variety of industries, including consumer brands, technology, and software. Alexandra’s practice centers on strategies involving the creation, transfer, and licensing of intellectual property.
With a focus on mergers and acquisitions, complex carve-outs, and licensing arrangements, Alexandra regularly assists private equity firms and other companies with corporate and strategic transactions involving intellectual property and technology. She also has experience in brand protection strategies, helping clients safeguard and effectively use their intellectual property.

- Represented Bain Capital in a definitive agreement to acquire Envestnet for $4.5 billion.
- Represented Simple Mills in a definitive agreement to sell the company to Flowers Foods, Inc. for $795 million in cash.
- Represented New Mountain Capital in several transactions, including:
- its growth investment in Access Healthcare, a technology-enabled platform for revenue cycle management intended for the healthcare industry.
- its portfolio company Pearce Services on Pearce's acquisition of Unified Power, a provider of preventative maintenance and repair services for power systems.
- Represented ZeroFox and Haveli Investments, its controlling sponsor, in the divestment of its subsidiary, IDX, to Kingswood Capital Management.
- Represented Haveli Investments in its strategic majority investment in AppViewX, a leader in automated certificate lifecycle management (CLM) and public key infrastructure (PKI) solutions.
- Represented Gauge Capital and its platform Soleil Collective in acquiring a majority stake in Coco & Eve, an Australian beauty brand selling hair and skincare products.
- Represented Stride Consumer Partners LLC in its minority investment in Odele, a Minneapolis-based clean hair care brand.
- Represented Genstar Capital in a significant investment in AffiniPay, a leading provider of practice management software, integrated payments and embedded fintech for the legal, accounting and professional services end markets.
- Represented Silver Lake and its portfolio company Weld North Education in the add-on acquisition of Winsor Learning, a producer of supplemental literacy products.
- Represented EQT Private Equity on its agreement to acquire Avetta from Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe.
- Represented Yasso Holdings, Inc. and Castanea Partners in a definitive agreement to sell Yasso Holdings, Inc.
- Represented Proterial, Ltd., a portfolio company of Bain Capital, in the pending sale of its subsidiary, Waupaca Foundry, Inc.
- Represented Crosspoint Capital Partners in the acquisition of Absolute Software, a provider of self-healing, intelligent security solutions.
