Caroline Blake is a litigator in the firm’s Boston office. Caroline represents sophisticated clients in a broad range of complex matters including government investigations, high-stakes shareholder and contract disputes, and pre-merger risk analysis. Her experience includes researching and drafting pleadings and motions, preparing for depositions and government interviews, and overseeing document discovery and responses to government subpoenas. Caroline also maintains an active pro bono practice, serving as co-lead of the family law team for the firm’s medical-legal partnership and representing clients in the Massachusetts Family and Probate Courts. 

During law school, Caroline served as an editor of the Boston University Law Review and as a research assistant for Professor Rory Van Loo. Caroline also interned for the Honorable Scott L. Kafker of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

  • Lead associate on multiple teams representing clients in connection with False Claims Act investigations brought by the U.S. Department of Justice.
  • Lead associate on a team representing a hospital in connection with an antitrust investigation brought by a state attorney general’s office. 
  • Advised multiple universities regarding regulations related to federal research funding and foreign influence. 
  • Assisted in the defense of a special purpose acquisition company against an investigation brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, ultimately securing a complete walk away.
  • Assisted in representing an officer and shareholder of a closely-held retail company in a complex shareholder litigation.
  • Assisted in representing a pharmaceutical company in a multi-million dollar contract dispute. 
  • Assisted in advising private equity clients regarding litigation risks facing prospective portfolio companies.
