Kelsey Baldwin is a senior funds attorney practicing in the firm’s alternative asset opportunities practice. She works with institutional and other investors (including sovereign wealth funds, funds-of-funds, endowments and private foundations) in a range of transaction types, including investments in private funds, GP-led recapitalizations and secondaries.
Kelsey has 15 years of experience in the asset management and private funds industries in both legal and hybrid roles. Prior to joining Ropes & Gray in 2026, Kelsey was as a private funds associate at New York-based law firm, where she represented private equity, growth equity and hedge funds. She then spent six years at the Texas Municipal Retirement System as their senior investment attorney, helping to deploy over $15 billion in alternative investments globally, in fund, SMA and direct investments. She then served as Assistant General Counsel at Allocate.co, where she assisted in investment underwriting, fund formation and product development, providing practical, business-oriented solutions for the RIA.
