Marissa Brown joined Ropes & Gray’s asset management practice group in 2025. Marissa’s practice is primarily focused on advising fund managers on the formation, structuring, operation and regulatory compliance of private funds.

In law school, Marissa worked as the editor in chief on the Brooklyn Journal of Corporate, Financial & Commercial Law. As a student clinician for the Brooklyn Law Employment Law Clinic, Marissa represented low-income workers in mediations and negotiations with employers. She also served as an intern for the Honorable Ann M. Donnelly of the U.S, District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Prior to law school, Marissa was a captain of the University of Richmond’s NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse team.
