Mike Brueck is a partner in Ropes & Gray’s mergers & acquisitions  group. He represents buyers, sellers and boards of directors in complex public and private M&A transactions, as well as corporate governance and activism defense matters. Although Mike works with clients across a broad range of industries, he has extensive experience counseling REITs and private equity firms on their most significant M&A transactions, including leading the largest-ever private real estate transaction. He also has deep knowledge and experience in infrastructure M&A.

Mike has been recognized as a leading M&A lawyer by The Legal 500 U.S., a “Notable Practitioner” by IFLR 1000, an “M&A Client Service All-Star” by BTI Consulting and the only lawyer to be named as one of the 500 Global Leaders in both Real Estate and Crisis Management by Lawdragon. According to one client, “Mike is creative and capable of managing our biggest, most significant deals. He is always level-headed and able to reason clearly.”

Known for his innovative approach to client matters, Mike has played a key role in transactions recognized by the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers awards on multiple occasions. Among his earlier professional accomplishments, he was selected by M&A Advisor as one of the top 40 M&A lawyers under the age of 40 in the United States.

Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Mike was an M&A partner in the New York office of another international law firm.
