Oscar Burman is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s finance practice group, based in London. Oscar trained at the firm’s London office and gained experience in the private equity, restructuring, antitrust and finance teams.
In the finance practice group, Oscar has acted for private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, publicly listed companies, and borrowers on a range of domestic and cross-border finance transactions including leveraged and acquisition financing, infrastructure financing, refinancing, and restructuring.
In 2024, Oscar was a trainee solicitor on a deal winning the award “Banking & Finance Team of the Year” at the 2024 British Legal Awards in recognition of the financing of American Industrial Partners’ dual acquisition of the Aquaship and Intership groups.
Experience
- Advising American Industrial Partners in connection with the syndicated infrastructure financing arrangements supporting its acquisition and combination of AquaShip and Intership.
- Advising Liberty Global, DigitalBridge and AtlasEdge on the hybrid leveraged/infrastructure financing to support its construction of new data centres in Portugal.
- Advising Bridgepoint Development Capital on securing sterling-denominated term loan facilities and a multicurrency revolving credit facility to support a dividend recapitalisation in respect of the acquisition of Monica Vinader.
- Advising Partners Group in connection with the debt finance workstreams related to the establishment of a new multi-asset continuation fund and the transfer of related assets to the continuation fund.
- Advising Oriflame, a Swedish manufacturer of cosmetics and personal care products, in connection with a comprehensive recapitalization to deliver a debt reduction of approximately €520 million and a meaningful maturity runway.
