Sam Banker is an associate in the firm's alternative asset opportunities practice. He represents some of the world’s largest institutional investors and asset managers, including sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and private funds, in various transactional matters. Sam regularly advises clients in secondaries, co-investments, and GP-led recapitalizations. Sam works with a team that closed more than 400 secondaries transactions worth over $200 billion in 2024. He supports clients in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Australia.
Sam also maintains an active and varied pro bono practice, spanning public international law, immigration matters, housing matters, and matters for environmental organizations.
During law school, Sam served as a student attorney in the Boston University Startup Law Clinic, interned with a multi-stage investment firm, and conducted research for the Conservation Law Foundation. He was also an editor on the Boston University Law Review and the treasurer of the Energy & Environmental Law Society. Prior to law school, Sam served two years in the Peace Corps in Tanzania.
