Shayaan Borok is a business restructuring associate in the Ropes & Gray New York office, with a focus on all aspects of corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, and insolvency proceedings. Dual-qualified in New York and England & Wales, Shayaan’s international background fosters a unique ability to navigate varied legal regimes, commercial landscapes, and cultural environments.

Prior to joining the firm, Shayaan graduated from King’s College London with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Honours and Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business Law. She was awarded a distinction for her dissertation on International Investment Law and Policy. Shayaan also earned a Master of Laws (LLM) in Commercial and Corporate Legal Practice from The University of Law, London.

Whilst studying at King’s College London, Shayaan volunteered as a legal advisor in the University’s Pro Bono Law Clinic. Throughout her time at The University of Law, London, she worked alongside an immigration and asylum barrister at Garden Court Chambers.

  • Represented Empire Today, a leading provider of installed home improvements and home furnishings for the last 65 years, in its 2026 comprehensive recapitalization. The transaction was supported by all of Empire Today’s lenders and existing equity sponsors, substantially reduced the company’s funded debt to its lowest level in over a decade, and capitalized the company with a significant new equity investment from an investment group led by funds managed by Invesco Senior Secured Management, Inc. and affiliates of Fortress Investment Group.
