Diana K. Cieslak is counsel in Ropes & Gray’s global litigation and enforcement practice group and a member of the firm’s Chambers Band 1-ranked False Claims Act (FCA) practice. Diana’s practice is informed by her extensive experience at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Civil Division where she handled FCA cases on behalf of the federal government for nearly a decade. As a senior trial counsel in the DOJ’s Fraud Section, Diana efficiently investigated and resolved FCA matters concerning a range of healthcare and procurement laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, and the federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. In this role, Diana also litigated several FCA matters in federal district courts, including one matter that she handled through trial and post-trial briefing.

Diana previously served as an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law, where she co-taught a civil litigation practice seminar. Prior to joining DOJ, she clerked on both the Second Circuit and D.C. Circuit. In between her clerkships, she practiced at a major law firm based in Washington, D.C., where she represented clients in civil matters and government investigations.
