Marisa is a law clerk in Ropes & Gray’s New York office and a member of the private equity transactions group. Marisa supports domestic and international clients, including private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, on a variety of corporate transactions, including private equity investments and divestitures, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments and growth equity financings. Marisa’s work also includes assisting clients with corporate governance and general corporate matters.
Marisa has advised clients across multiple industries, including pharmaceuticals and life sciences, electric vehicle manufacturing (including raw materials supply and component and battery manufacturing), mining and natural resources, banking and financial services, technology and fintech.
Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Marisa practiced corporate law in the Montreal office of a major Canadian law firm. During her time at the firm, Marisa played an active role in recruiting, was the national co-lead of the women lawyers’ network and an inaugural member of the associate business development committee.
Marisa obtained both a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University, where she completed an exchange at l’Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. Prior to law school, Marisa obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with Joint Honours from McGill University, where she completed a semester abroad studying international political economy in Florence, Italy.
Marisa completed a secondment at the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSPIB) in 2022.
