Sophie Duffy is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s employment, executive compensation and employee benefits practice group. Sophie primarily focuses her practice on all labor and employment aspects of corporate transactions.

Sophie also advises clients on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including enforceability of restrictive covenants, wage and hour compliance, union matters, employment-related policies, employee discipline, whistleblower allegations, discrimination and harassment matters, terminations and reductions in force, employment agreements and separation agreements. Sophie has also represented clients before administrative agencies and in state and federal court. In addition, Sophie has experience advising on and conducting internal investigations for employers and board committees, including interviewing witnesses, drafting reports, and negotiating resolutions.

Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Sophie led the in-house employment law team at a public technology company. She has also practiced at several leading international law firms.

In law school, Sophie was a member of the Cardozo Law Review. She also served as the senior coordinator for Cardozo Advocates for Battered Women and the secretary of the Cardozo Leadership Association of Women.
