Teddy Dunn is a private funds attorney in Ropes & Gray's Chicago office, focusing on private fund formation. He advises sponsors and investors on a variety of fund structures, including evergreen funds, credit funds, real estate funds, and secondaries funds. Teddy's experience covers the full lifecycle of fund formation, from structuring and negotiating fund terms to governance and investor arrangements.
While in law school, Teddy worked as a student attorney in the Environmental Law Clinic and the Entrepreneurship Clinic, where he provided legal services to non-profit organizations, neighborhood communities, and small businesses. Through these clinics, he developed a strong foundation in entity structuring, contract negotiation, and governance advising—skills he now draws on daily in his private fund formation practice with fund sponsors and investors.
