Cole Engle joined Ropes & Gray’s New York office in 2026. He is an associate in the corporate department.
Cole represents public and private companies and private equity funds in a broad range of corporate transactions, including private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments, financings, and equity restructurings. He also advises clients on general corporate governance matters. His experience spans a variety of industries, including industrials, consumer goods, media, and technology.
Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Cole worked as a corporate associate at another major law firm in New York.
Experience
- Represented EagleTree Capital in the acquisition and financing of The Opus Group, a purpose-built network of agency brands delivering experiential, event, and brand marketing for more than 70 global companies.*
- Represented Gemspring Capital Management in its strategic minority investment in and financing of Aeromed Group, a leading provider of comprehensive supply chain solutions to the global aerospace and defense industry.*
- Represented Fintool, a developer of AI-powered financial research tools, in its sale to Microsoft Corporation.*
- Represented The Riverside Company in the acquisition and financing of Western Botanicals, a manufacturer of vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS), and in Western Botanicals’ subsequent add-on acquisition of Yellow Emperor.*
- Represented EagleTree Capital in its strategic investment in NuTrail, a leading nut-based granola brand.*
- Represented EagleTree Capital in its sale of American Lawyer Media to Law Business Research, backed by ICG and Levine Leichtman Capital Partners.*
- Represented a fund of funds in connection with an investment in a continuation vehicle credit portfolio and a primary investment in the seller’s successor fund.*
- Represented a fund of funds in connection with the acquisition of a large secondary portfolio spanning over 50 funds.*
- Advised emerging companies and venture capital firms in connection with Series Seed and SAFE financings.*
