At Harvard Law School, Casandra was president of La Alianza, the latinx affinity organization, and served as a teaching fellow for a first year criminal law class. She was a part of the child advocacy clinic and spent two semesters with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office in their Child Protection Unit. She also spent a summer with the U.S Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

Prior to law school, Casandra served as the assistant director for a YMCA Beacon Program in Jamaica, Queens and a legal secretary for another large law firm in Manhattan.

  • Conducted an in-depth sensitive investigation on behalf of an elite university into an athletic team in connection with allegations of misconduct in violation of NCAA rules.
  • Represented a leading provider of cloud-based software in responding to a large-scale data-breach stemming from a cyber-attack.
  • Conducts pre-acquisition diligence and litigation-related risk analysis for corporate and private equity clients.
  • Represents pharmaceutical client in parallel federal and state regulatory investigations and litigation involving alleged violations of the False Claims Act.
  • Represented university in response to complaints about employee misconduct and athlete abuse.

Civil Litigation

  • Represented hospital in resolving claims related to allegations of sexual abuse by former physician employee.
  • Represents a major financial institution in international arbitration concerning dispute with majority owner of Latin American telecommunications company and related litigation, resulting in multiple favorable awards that have been confirmed by the Southern District of New York.
  • Represented corporate clients in expedited litigation in Delaware Chancery Court.
  • Represents university in lawsuit involving allegations of sexual abuse by a former student.
  • Defended a non-profit medical organization in cases in federal and state court alleging employment discrimination on the basis of race, sex, national origin, and age.
  • Represented various financial institutions, including large global banks and investment management firms, in responding to third-party subpoenas.
