Mikayla Fanto joined Ropes & Gray's New York office in 2024 and works in the business restructuring group.
Prior to joining the firm, Mikayla graduated magna cum laude from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and graduated cum laude from University of New Haven, where she earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology. Mikayla spent her first summer of law school interning for the Honorable Judge Joanna Seybert in the Eastern District of New York. Mikayla served as senior articles editor on the Hofstra Law Review and as the director of technology for the Hofstra Law Moot Court Board. Mikayla was also a legal ethics teaching assistant and a civil procedure research assistant.
Experience
- Cutera, Inc., a leading provider of aesthetic and dermatology solutions for practitioners worldwide, in prepackaged chapter 11 cases to reduce the company’s debt by nearly $400 million, or over 90%, and raise $65 million in new money from existing lenders.
- Vobev LLC, a leading beverage manufacturer with a state-of-the-art canning, filling and warehousing facility, in its pending chapter 11 case to restructure over $400 million of prepetition first lien funded debt, as well as over $70 million of additional unsecured liabilities. Vobev filed its chapter 11 case with the support of its prepetition lenders through the funding of an approximately $115 million debtor-in-possession financing facility consisting of approximately $37 million of new money and approximately $78 million of “rolled-up” prepetition debt. The prepetition lenders serving as the DIP lenders also entered into a stalking horse purchase agreement with Vobev for a $150 million credit bid, subject to higher or otherwise better offers.
- Aimbridge Hospitality in connection with a comprehensive out-of-court restructuring supported by 100% of the company’s lenders that successfully converted more than $1 billion of senior and junior debt into equity and infused the company with $100 million in new capital. Aimbridge is the leading third-party hotel management company, managing over 1,000 hotels globally and employing approximately 47,000 individuals.
