Lisa Goodman joined the corporate department of Ropes & Gray in 2017. Lisa assists asset management teams on a broad range of transactions including the representation of private equity fund sponsors, private equity fund investors, hedge funds, and other private funds in connection with various fundraising, regulatory, and compliance matters.
Lisa actively supports the pro bono program and has successfully settled over ten eviction cases in the Housing Negotiation Project managed by the Justice & Diversity Center of The Bar Association of San Francisco, and in relation to this clinic, was deemed a “2018 Outstanding Volunteer.” She has also been the principal attorney on an immigration withholding case and an immigration asylum case, and in relation to her immigration work, received a “Pro Bono Asylum Excellence Award” from the Center for Gender & Refugee Studies in recognition of an outstanding commitment to justice for people seeking asylum in the United States though pro bono efforts.
During law school, Lisa volunteered for El Centro Legal in both the Landlord-Tenant and Skid Row Clinic. She also received the Masin Family Academic Silver Award for excellence in Securities Regulation, S.1, 17S.
