Sid Goyal is an associate in the business restructuring group. His practice focuses on all aspects of corporate restructuring, including bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court reorganizations and workouts, and bankruptcy-related litigation. His experience spans a broad range of industries, including telecommunications, life sciences, technology, and real estate.

Prior to joining Ropes, Sid was a restructuring associate at another major global law firm.

Sid earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law, as well as a Tri-Sector Fellow, and spent a semester as an Honors Extern in the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Experience

  • Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. and several of its subsidiaries in their ongoing Chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. With over US$2.2 billion in outstanding funded debt, Prospect’s Chapter 11 cases are among the largest filed in 2025.*
  • Ebix, Inc., a global software and technology company, and certain of its affiliates in their Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, to address approximately US$700 million in funded debt obligations, through a successful asset sale and sponsored plan of reorganization.*
  • Velo3D, Inc., a leader in scalable metal 3D printing technology, in connection with a debt-for-equity exchange transaction with Arrayed Notes Acquisition Corp.*
  • ICON Aircraft, Inc., a California-based manufacturer of light-sport aircraft, in its filing for Chapter 11 protection in Delaware, citing more than US$170 million in debt and plans to sell off substantially all its assets.*
