Heidi Hockberger is an associate in Ropes & Gray’s finance group. Heidi focuses her practice on special situations transactions and workouts, restructurings and insolvency matters. She has also represented lenders, borrowers, creditor groups and equity sponsors in middle market to large restructuring transactions. Heidi’s experience spans a broad range of industries, including oil & gas, oilfield & construction services, retail, telecommunications, consumer goods and cryptocurrency.

Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Heidi was a restructuring associate at another preeminent law firm.

Experience

  • Represented Exactech, Inc., and its affiliated debtors in their pending chapter 11 cases involving the restructuring of more than $350 million of prepetition debt, as well as additional prepetition liabilities; Exactech’s chapter 11 cases are supported by an $85 million debtor in possession credit facility and a stalking horse bid, which remains subject to higher and better offers, for substantially all of the debtors’ assets.
  • Represented Osmium Partners (Larkspur SPV), LP in its successful rights offering backstop in connection with the Chapter 11 case of Tuesday Morning Corporation.*
  • Represented cryptocurrency lending platform Celsius Network LLC and its affiliates in its groundbreaking Chapter 11 restructuring in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York..*
  • Represented Macy’s Inc. in its issuance of $1.3 billion of senior secured notes and entry into a $3 billion asset-based credit facility.*
  • Represented an ad hoc group of noteholders in the Chapter 15 case of Modern Land (China) Co., Ltd., resulting in a landmark ruling recognizing Modern Land’s Cayman scheme of arrangement in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.*
  • Represented offshore drilling company Seadrill Limited and certain of its direct and indirect subsidiaries in their multi-jurisdictional restructuring of approximately $6.1 billion of funded debt filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.*
  • Represented an ad hoc group of noteholders in the Chapter 11 case of China Fishery Group Limited (Cayman) in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.*
  • Represented exploration and production company Gulfport Energy Corporation and its wholly-owned subsidiaries in their prearranged Chapter 11 restructuring in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. The restructuring eliminated more than $1.2 billion of funded debt and resulted in over $600 million in new financing post-restructuring.*
  • Represented telecommunications services provider Windstream Holdings, Inc. and its direct and indirect subsidiaries in their Chapter 11 restructuring of more than $5.6 billion in funded debt filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.*
  • Represented oilfield services provider FTS International, Inc. and its affiliates in their prepackaged Chapter 11 restructuring of more than $400 million of funded secured debt in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.*
  • Represented fast-fashion retailer Forever 21, Inc. and its affiliates in their Chapter 11 restructuring in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.*
  • Represented toy retailer Toys “R” Us, Inc. and certain of its subsidiaries in its Chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia that resulted in a successful wind-down of operations, sale of assets, and reorganization of operations across the world.*
