Martin has been an associate in Ropes & Gray’s award-winning asset management group since 2018. Martin focuses his practice on private investment funds spanning the buyout, growth equity, venture capital, impact investing and fixed income spaces with investment strategies, structures and investors in all regions of the world. Martin advises fund sponsors in connection with fundraising, structuring, operational and regulatory matters as well as asset managers’ governance and upper-tier arrangements. Martin also counsels leading institutional investors (including university endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and funds of funds) in their primary investments, LP-led secondaries, GP-led recapitalizations and co-investments.

All of this involves deep and continued involvement in the many aspects of clients’ operations and negotiations with counterparties, during which Martin seeks to harness Ropes & Gray’s broad view of the private funds market to provide practical insight and business-oriented advice to clients.

Martin is committed to pro bono service and giving back to his community. He has advised pro bono clients on a range of corporate matters, especially 501(c)(3) incorporation for both local and international ventures.
